Teaching and Mentoring
|
I maintain strong interests in teaching and mentoring and believe that educating and training future wildlife professionals is vitally important for successful conservation of our natural resources. I have been lucky enough to mentor some incredible students on interesting and productive independent research projects (no thanks to me!). I also am passionate about teaching and have served as a laboratory instructor, assistant lecturer, and instructor for several different wildlife courses and actively seek to develop skills as an effective communicator, instructor, and educator.

I have mentored 6 undergraduate students and 1 high school student with independent research projects resulting in 4 peer-reviewed publications (in review or in press) and 10 presentations at local/state/national meetings.
